The name Shankar commands respect not just for the films he has directed but also for the films his production house 'S Pictures' has successfully churned out. The long list of films 'Mudhalvan', 'Kaadhal', 'Veyil', 'Imsai Arasan 23aam Pulikesi', 'Kallori' and 'Arai Enn 305-il Kadavul' will shortly have a new addition in the form of the under-production venture 'Anandha Purathu Veedu' directed by debutant Naga.
'Anandha Purathu Veedu' stars Nandha and Chaya Singh in lead roles and is expected to be a thriller of sorts despite the director claiming it to be a family entertainer. This speculation has arisen because of the fact that Nanda though new to films has been mighty successful wielding the megaphone for television serials such as the popular 'Marma Desam', 'Vidathu Karuppu', 'Ramany vs. Ramany' and 'Chithambara Ragasiyam' most of which dealt with thrilling paranormal and supernatural elements.
Shooting for the first schedule is currently underway. The filmmakers have zeroed in on locations such as Pollachi and Munnar. However, major portions of the film would be canned in interior parts of Kerala.
Cinematographer Arun Mani Palani, a Master of Fine Arts student from USA is reportedly working wonders with this film using colors that go with the pulse of the story. A debutant Ramesh Krishna has been entrusted the responsibility of scoring music and lyrics are by Vairamuthu. Bhavani Shankar is handling art direction.
As the producers of 'Anandha Purathu Veedu' claim "Hold on to your seats and don't let your nerves give way", movie goers might just be in for something exciting.
