Lal Jose, one of the biggest brands among Malayalam directors is making his debut in Tamil.
This unassuming, soft-spoken director was able to deliver delights like Achan Urangatha Veedu and Arabikatha to the critics and at the same time come out with mass entertainers like Classmates and Meesa Madhavan both blockbusters in Malayalam.
Lal Jose’s new Tamil film titled Mazhai Varapoguthu is for Kool Productions, producers of Pidichirukku and Mahesh Saranya Mattum Palar. The shoot will start by December first week in Theni with two newcomers Anandasamy and Reema in the lead with music by Vidyasagar.
The story is by James Albert with dialogues by Nellai Jayantha and is set in a village near Theni. Says Lal Jose: “I take up an assignment if I have a story to narrate. The basic theme of this film is about water scarcity in rural areas and the craze for cinema among the ordinary villagers."
